Take Matalan’s successful Reward Card mobile, by launching a bespoke smartphone app to promote omnichannel customer engagement.

The story

Matalan is one of the UK's leading clothing and homeware retailers, offering quality items at up to half the equivalent high street price. It runs "Matalan Reward Card," a successful loyalty scheme with over 12 million active members.

While the Reward Card can be used both online and in-store, Matalan wanted to encourage greater omnichannel customer engagement by developing its mobile offering.

With UK smartphone penetration above 76%, Matalan saw the significant potential in adopting an end-to-end fully mobile-based loyalty scheme, and selected Mobilize to implement the solution.

The solution

Mobilize created a bespoke loyalty app for Matalan that Reward Card holders can download for free from the App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play (for Android devices).

The new app was seamlessly integrated into Matalan’s EPOS system and e-commerce platform, meaning shoppers can now use the app to register as loyalty scheme members, view and redeem offers, and shop online.
